Collaborations between music artists tend to breed greatness. “Conscious Dreams” by Chantara and Sir Lexx is a prime example. “Conscious Dreams” is the latest single by Chantara and her return to the limelight following her singles, “El Único” and “Call My Name,” the latter of which accumulated about 200,000 streams and its music video garnered over 100,000 views. “Conscious Dreams” serves as Sir Lexx’s second release of the year, following his collaboration with Icy Rose, “¿¿Que??”

“Conscious Dreams” is a dreamscape type of record. The song is about a young boy who is dreaming, and within the dream, he falls in love with a woman. However, the woman actually turns out to be an angel, his spirit guide. Chantara’s part within the track seemingly serves as the subject within Sir Lexx’s dream. The record was written by Sir Lexx, the self-proclaimed Edgar Allen Poe of this generation of music. “If Edgar were alive, he would sound more like me,” Sir Lexx states. “Conscious Dreams” does have a somewhat eerie beat, produced by thundaa, and poetic lyricism that does pay homage to one of his greatest influences. He also draws inspiration from Elliott Hulse, Juice WRLD, Moneybagg Yo, and Drakeo the Ruler.

Chantara kicks off the record with her hard-hitting verse, then supplies a catchy hook through her flawless vocals. The multitalented singer-songwriter is known for her Latin Pop, but she demonstrates her versatility in “Conscious Dreams.” Growing up in a multicultural household that spoke five languages and with influences such as Shakira, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Enrique Iglesias, and Marc Anthony, it is no wonder why Chantara can effortlessly utilize her world-class vocals on various different arrangements and genres.

The Hip-Hop/Rap song is definitely one that will resonate with listeners from all over. Consciously, and subconsciously, fall in love with “Conscious Dreams.”
