Hailing from the China-Bangladesh musical landscape, AggronympH takes a rather unconventional approach to heavy music, fusing the brooding atmosphere of gothic metal with electronic elements to create a sound that refuses to play by the usual rules. Their 2015 EP, The Black Album, released worldwide through French label CD RUN, showcases this adventurous blend, with Saad Al Sami Arnob taking charge of the recording, mixing, and mastering at InternalChaos Studio.
The fourth track, “Under The Ashes,” turns up the heat with a muscular combination of pounding drums and blazing guitar riffs. There’s an immediate sense of urgency in the instrumentation, as the thumping percussion drives the song forward while the guitars unleash a fiery wall of distortion. The arrangement has a gritty, aggressive edge, giving the track plenty of punch without losing the band’s darker gothic character.
Adding even more fuel to the fire is the vocalist, whose thick, commanding voice brings an unmistakable rawness to the performance. He attacks the verses with a frustrated intensity, frequently pushing into a fierce, screamer-like delivery that makes the emotions feel almost explosive. He lets the anger spill out through his vocals, matching the relentless force of the instrumentation. It’s this combination of bruising guitars, hard-hitting drums, and visceral vocal delivery that gives
“Under The Ashes” its appeal. All in all, AggronympH delivers a fiery dose of electronic gothic metal here, leaning into the heavier side of their sound and leaving little room to catch your breath.
