From Helsinki to Tokyo to Los Angeles, Misha has an unusually deep feel for music that transcends borders. Serving as the definitive climax to his celebrated “space adventure” trilogy – following his Emmy Award-nominated debut Nocturnal and its hypnotic follow-up Radiant – the 10-track project is a masterclass in modern soul, seamlessly blending alternative R&B, future-funk, hip-hop, disco, and house into an otherworldly, cinematic sonic voyage.
Grammy-winning vocalist Gwen Bunn and Evil Needle give the album’s focus track “Goodbye” its reflective ache, Relyae and Jussi Halme stretch “Skyline” toward the horizon, and Raquel Rodriguez keeps “Riptide” rooted in warm, unhurried soul. Dreamwaves is a form of escape, healing, and recalibration in a world that has become increasingly heavy and chaotic. It’s an immersive listening experience envisioned as a journey toward higher vibrations, emotional release, and personal movement, both sonically and spiritually.
Misha confides, “If my music can encourage someone to trust themselves more, embrace who they are, and turn their passion into a lifestyle or purpose, then that means everything to me. I want the music to remind people that growth comes through movement, and that sometimes the biggest transformation begins when you finally allow yourself to follow what truly moves you.“
With over 100 million streams on Spotify and high-profile sync placements across Chris Pratt’s feature film Mercy, HBO Max’s South Side, G.R.I.T.S. and more, Misha has earned a reputation as one of global music’s most visionary taste-makers. His past collaborators include Lalah Hathaway, Talib Kweli, and Nate Smithto name a few. Singles from the album have already landed on editorial playlists like Apple Music’s New in R&B, Breaking R&B, and Day One; Spotify’s R&B Weekly and Groovin’ R&B; Pandora’s Indie R&B and New R&B; Tidal’s New Tracks R&B; and Audiomack’s Best of the Week: R&B. Misha is an acclaimed Finnish producer-artist who is celebrated for his genre-blending sound and global music collaborations that move effortlessly between beat music, R&B, hip-hop, and nu-funk. With a foundation rooted in hip-hop culture and a deep appreciation for soulful, jazz-inflected harmony, his work is defined by rich textures, soulful chord progressions, and immersive, dreamlike atmospheres.
Emerging from Finland’s hip-hop scene, Misha began writing, producing, and performing at a young age, independently releasing self-made projects on CDs and early online platforms while performing both locally and internationally. His early musical foundation, including singing in a children’s choir and playing piano and clarinet, continues to inform his melodic sensibility and layered production style. A pivotal chapter came during his studies in Hip-Hop at McNally Smith College of Music in Minnesota, where he fully committed to his artistic path. His first instrumental release “Feel” under the Misha moniker arrived in 2018 via Chillhop Music, quickly gaining traction.
Since then, he has collaborated with internationally recognized artists including GRAMMY-winning Lalah Hathaway, Nate Smith, Talib Kweli, and Amber Navran (of Moonchild). His catalog has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify and earned support from platforms such as Okayplayer, The Line of Best Fit, Soulection Radio, BBC Radio 1Xtra, CBC, and Wonderland Magazine. Misha’s songs have also appeared on Chris Pratt’s movie Mercy, HBO Max’s South Side and the TV series G.R.I.T.S.
Misha’s debut album Nocturnal was nominated for Best Album (Critics’ Choice and public vote) at the 2024 Finnish Music Awards (Emma), followed by his sophomore album Radiant in April 2024. Building on this momentum, 2025 marked a landmark year with high-profile releases including official remixes for Lalah Hathaway, collaborations with Talib Kweli and Stacy Epps, and the acclaimed JOMO EP with cocabona, featuring artists such as Joya Mooi, Kadeem Tyrell, Latrell James, and Relyae.
At the start of 2026, Misha released Aura Gold alongside Grammy-nominated artist BeMyFiasco. The radiant, cross-continental EP was crafted between North Carolina and Finland and proves that great music is truly borderless. The heart of Aura Gold is a celebration of creativity, culture, and music, featuring a rich blend of sounds spanning 70s funk and disco, 90s R&B and hip-hop, Afrobeats, Amapiano, and modern soul. Featuring collaborations with cocabona, Finnish Jazz/R&B keyboardist Jussi Halme, Grammy award–winning saxophonist Jemarcus Bridges, experimental artist-producer Evil Needle to name a few, Aura Gold is about honoring each step along the path that led us back to who we truly are.
Misha continued to expand his sonic universe with a new run of singles leading into his new album Dreamwaves, the final installment in his “space adventure” trilogy (Nocturnal, Radiant, Dreamwaves). The project draws inspiration from visionary artists like Dexter Wansel, The Mizell Brothers, Sun Ra, Mndsgn, and D’Mile, channeling a timeless yet forward-thinking aesthetic. He shares, “what connects all of them for me is their ability to create immersive sonic worlds that feel timeless, soulful, and futuristic at the same time.” The globally inspired project features an impressive roster of collaborators including Gwen Bunn, KALLITECHNIS, Raquel Rodriguez, Relyae, Phil Beaudreau, BeMyFiasco, Lyric Jones, Nefertitti Avani, Jessica Jolia, Evil Needle, cocabona, Jussi Halme, Blake Anthony, Sheria Croutch and Lyric Jones. Created across cities including Los Angeles, New York, London, Toronto, and Amsterdam, Dreamwaves reflects a global collaborative spirit and explores themes of movement, transformation, and emotional growth.
