Wakko the Kidd has had quite the year; from ending up in a life threatening condition in hospital to dropping his first record in his new partnership with Empire records and WSE Music Group.
AIRHEADZ is a combustible, arrogant track featuring Louie Ray and is as much a nod to the future as an acknowledgement of the artists that have influenced Wakko’s unique musical past. Before Wakko was even 18 he was signed to the legendary rapper B.O.B’s label No Genre and although that partnership was not to be for ever it certainly has acted as a lesson and catalyst to the position that Wakko finds himself in with Empire Records.
Other artistic influences include many predominantly west coast rappers but perhaps more importantly is the west coast culture that has raised him. Whether in his artistic product or throughout his life Wakko has regularly mentioned the unique influence and impact of how the culture that surrounds him has moulded him into the artist that he is today.
What sets AIRHEADZ out from Wakko’s previous releases, is that this is a track of an artist who recognizes not only what lies ahead of him but also what lies behind him. Be it in music or his various businesses one feels that this is an artist that knows the importance of what he has around him and we are incredibly excited to see what his collaboration with Empire Records bring – especially for his hotly anticipated LP ‘The Kidd that Did.’
