HOGY DE OSO

With atmospheric production, personal storytelling, and a vision rooted in independence, Hogy De Oso is creating a sound and movement of his own.

In a hip-hop industry driven by trends, Hogy De Oso wants to bring something different to the table. The Pueblo, Colorado, artist is building a sound that combines traditional hip-hop foundations with alternative influences, atmospheric production, and lyrics drawn from his own life experiences.

For Hogy, making music is like painting on a blank canvas. He creates his own beats, records his vocals, and handles his own engineering, allowing him to shape each track from beginning to end. Rather than following what other artists are doing, he prefers to let his creativity and emotions guide the process.

His music reflects the reality of his life, including his upbringing, personal struggles, substance use, and near-death experiences. Instead of portraying himself as someone who has everything figured out, Hogy wants listeners to hear the truth behind his experiences.

“I want people to be able to relate,” is the message behind his approach. He believes music should offer more than a catchy beat; it should give people something they can feel, understand, and connect with personally.

His creative independence has become a defining part of his identity. Earlier in his career, he relied more heavily on outside producers and beats. Today, producing and engineering his own music allows him to develop a more distinctive sound while maintaining control over his artistic direction.

That identity is closely connected to !LL~L€GiT, a name that represents his creative approach and the brand he is building alongside his music.

Hogy’s influences include David Ruffin, RZA, Lil Wayne, Nas, Pimp C, and Bun B. However, Wu-Tang Clan and RZA have had a particularly strong impact on his vision. He admires how RZA helped create a recognizable sound, bring artists together, and develop a cultural movement that extended beyond music.

Hogy hopes to apply that same spirit of creativity and independence to his own career, building something that people recognize as more than an artist name.

His songwriting process is spontaneous. Sometimes he writes in a notebook while relaxing or spending time outside. Other times, an instrumental comes together in the studio, and the lyrics follow naturally. Although most of his songs come from personal experiences, he also incorporates imagination and unusual imagery when a track calls for something more experimental.

Among the songs he has highlighted are “Back in the Game,” “I’m Rollin Up,” and “Here For A Good Time, Not Here For A Long Time.” The latter reflects his outlook on life: time is limited, tomorrow is never guaranteed, and people should make the most of the opportunities they have. Although Hogy often works alone, he is interested in collaborating with more artists and expanding his creative network. He has also discussed plans for music videos, merchandise, additional performances, interviews, and billboard promotion in Colorado and Atlanta.

His larger vision involves growing both the music and the business behind it. He wants to reach new audiences, perform in more cities, and establish HDO as a recognizable identity within hip-hop.

Ultimately, Hogy De Oso wants people to experience his music as art. Every beat, lyric, and emotion contributes to the story he is telling.

He believes his best work is still ahead of him, and with his focus on independent production, honest storytelling, and brand development, he is determined to keep building his own lane rather than follow someone else’s
