Dewayne Ames Jr (born August 28, 1997), known professionally as HonchoTheRock$tar (stylized as HTR$), is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Honcho’s musical style has been described as a fusion of traditional hip hop, wavy and ambient. Honcho is originally from Clarksville Tennessee, but he has migrated to California, so while living in California, his sound still has a very present Midwest like tone to it. Some of his influences are Post Malone, drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, and more.

As a child, he lived on each coast starting off in the east coast in Absecon, New Jersey when he was eight years old, his parents had then moved to Clarksville Tennessee, where he spent most of his teenage years all the way, until 17. As a kid honcho was heavy into church because his dad would sometimes preach so he was technically a preachers kid. He, then after church would play the drums and try to get any musical outlet out of his system. His parents once brought him a drum set when he was six years old and they took it away two days later because he played it too much. Growing up music was always something important to Honcho. He used to often go to friends house, who have computers and record on audacity and try to wrap and put songs out so his classmates could hear they used to laugh at him, but he never stopped so eventually he started putting them on YouTube, as life went on when honcho graduated he went to college to be an audio engineer, but as you know, school didn’t work out, so he continued his career and met people along the way that have helped his journey.

He is now the CEO of NFE records! He works very closely with the producers Ray Jodye & Chris Knxx. We look forward to see what HTR$ and his team can bring to the music industry as a fresh new take and wave to our ears sonically. He will be releasing a new project, called “no service in the hills”, fully produced by not from earth records, and they are looking to shake the generation. As we move forward, we hope this hot new artist will change the game and bring a fresh new take to how we listen to music. Be on the lookout!
