Rasul Ree Unveils New Album, RAGU

Kansas City hip-hop artist Rasul Ree is back with a new project, RAGU, adding another chapter to a growing catalog that has established him as one of the distinctive voices coming out of the Midwest.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Rasul Ree has built his sound around a blend of Midwest influence and East Coast-inspired hip-hop. His music has consistently reflected his personality, environment, ambition, and streetwise creativity. His Spotify biography describes that combination as a fusion of Kansas City roots with the East Coast backgrounds of his parents, creating a sound that stands apart from the area’s traditional rap style.

RAGU arrives after several years of steady releases from Ree. His catalog includes projects such as The Boy Wonder, Gutta Gutta Island, Swag Emoji, Top 5, Super Trap World, and the 2025 Reezy EP. His latest documented album before RAGU is Dotte Season, released in 2026.

What makes RAGU especially interesting is the way it fits into Rasul Ree’s larger artistic evolution. Rather than simply following trends, Ree has continued developing his own lane—one that combines personality-driven records, Midwest flavor, street storytelling, catchy concepts, and an independent approach to hip-hop.

His recent work shows that evolution clearly. Reezy featured collaborations with artists including Khris B and Roy Gunna, while Dotte Season continued to represent Ree’s Kansas City identity.

For longtime supporters, RAGU represents another opportunity to hear where Rasul Ree is taking his sound next. For new listeners, it serves as an introduction to an independent Kansas City artist who has been building his catalog for years rather than appearing overnight.

With a discography stretching back more than a decade—including the 2013 project Reservoir Dogs with Tha Crew—Rasul Ree has demonstrated longevity as well as consistency.

RAGU is more than just another album title. It’s the latest statement from an artist continuing to build his own brand, represent Kansas City, and carve out his place in Midwest hip-hop.

Rasul Ree isn’t finished building. He’s still cooking—and RAGU is the next plate.
