Lexnour’s “Ride or Die” Surpasses 26 Million YouTube Views, Continuing to Grow Organically Over a Year After Release

Lexnour - Ride or Die (Official Music Video)

More than a year after its release, Lexnour’s emotional single “Ride or Die” has surpassed 26.3 million views on YouTube, while continuing to generate an estimated 30,000–50,000 views daily, proving the record still resonates long after its initial momentum.

Released on May 9, 2024, “Ride or Die” centers around heartbreak, regret and the emotions that linger after walking away from someone you cared about. According to Lexnour, part of the inspiration came from reflecting on a past relationship and trying to understand the pain his former partner may have felt after the breakup.

Rather than writing purely from his own hurt, the song explores something more complicated: what it feels like to be the person who leaves, while still carrying guilt for the story left behind.

The success behind “Ride or Die” becomes even more notable considering the record was built entirely outside of the traditional label system. The song was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Lexnour himself, while the music video was directed by longtime collaborator Geivon “EG” Cisneros, who also contributed as a co-writer.

Despite being independently funded with an estimated $7,000 USD budget, the visual leaned heavily on large LED-screen production techniques, creating a cinematic feel typically associated with bigger-budget releases.

The record has since surpassed 12 million Spotify streams, regularly gains traction through short-form content online, and has found particularly strong audiences in countries including Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa.

With no major label support behind the release, “Ride or Die” continues to stand as an example of how consistent content, audience connection and independent execution can still create lasting global records.

For Lexnour, the story behind “Ride or Die” may have started with heartbreak — but its impact continues to grow
