The Bronx-born, Miami-based independent artist just dropped “Strides” and it’s the kind of record that makes you pay attention to what he’s building. Smooth, melodic, dancehall-influenced — it’s a natural follow-up to “Radar” but it carves its own space entirely. Where “Radar” had weight and Caribbean grit, “Strides” floats. The hooks land easy, the production breathes, and Cardo sounds completely at home in it.
Two Caribbean records back to back, each one different, both of them his. That’s not an accident — that’s an artist who knows what lane he’s in and is moving through it with purpose. With a debut album (Shift) still to come, the independent Miami rapper is stacking the kind of body of work that speaks for itself.
